We'll leave from Malaga and head for Granada. Granada is the former capital of the last Islamic realm in southern Iberia—a kingdom that left its mark on the architectural heritage of the area you will discover today. We will visit the Alhambra, whose translation from Arabic—The Red One—refers to the sun-dried bricks used to build the fortress's outer walls. This true wonder of Moorish art stands as one of the most prestigious testimonies of Muslim presence in Spain. We'll then wander through the gorgeous gardens and courtyards of the Generalife, the former summer palace of the Nasrid rulers.
